| The LCDRT uses Scubapro Stabilizing jackets for Buoyancy Compensating Devices (BCD) with an A.I.R 2 alternate air source. All the BCD's are standardized for safety. Each one has a knife attached in a common location. |
| Our 15 ft. Zodiac are used for many operations. The boat is light enough to be carried to the water without a boat ramp. The boats are unsinkable even when flooded, a very important feature in river rescue situations. |
In the winter, ice rescue is always a possibility. The dive team has 4 DUI Drysuitswith Weazel Thinsulate underwear that are used for warmth and buoyancy in the water. |
| Underwater sonar and video play an important part of recovery missions. To locate the object before committing divers to the water increases safety and that is the primary goal in a recovery operation. |
Equipment Needs The LCDRT is always in need of some type
of equipment. The nature of dive rescue operations requires
that all life support equipment is in top condition at all
times. The Dive Rescue Team spent over $4,000 on equipment
purchases and maintenance in 2005. If any one would
like to help us finance the purchase a new Equipment or to
help in any way, please send your contribution to the address on
our home page or contact us at the same address. We are a
501(C3) non-profit organization so your donation is tax deductible! |
